Christ Church, Bowling Green, has called new recto

The Rev. Michael Blewett has accepted a call to become the rector of Christ Episcopal Church in Bowling Green.

Portrait of Michael BlewettFor the past seven years, Blewett has served as associate rector at the Church of St. Michael and St. George in St. Louis, a parish of 2,000 members. There he has been responsible for most major areas of ministry, including pastoral, parish life, Christian formation, outreach and newcomers.

His undergraduate education was in vocal performance at Westminster Choir College at Princeton, N.J. His master of divinity is from Virginia Theological
Seminary.

He is 42 years old and is married to the Rev. Heather Blewett, who plans to be a full -time mother to their two boys, ages 4 and 7. Their first Sunday at Christ Church will be Sept. 14.
